Hi guys - I own a 2 Hawks Longhunter hawk that I've had for maybe 4-5 years and I like it. I've been thinking about buying an H&B Forge Medium Camp Hawk and would like to hear from those that own (or owned in the past) both of these two hawks. What do you think of them ? How do they compare ? Thanks

I don't actually own either of those models. However, I've been using a 2Hawks Warbeast for about 7 years, so it's not like I don't have any experience. Also, I have been considering the HB Forge Shawnee myself. That being said, the LH is lighter, and therefore easier to carry, if that's a consideration. The MCH is actually closer to the Warbeast in size, weight, and working ability. I'd have to say it depends on what you'll be using it for. If you'll be carrying it on your belt in the woods, the LH is probably the better choice. If you're going to lash it to a pack, or keep it in your vehicle for emergencies, the Camp Hawk would be the better choice, by virtue of the longer cutting edge, and extra weight for heavy duty chores. I really DO like the 1095 steel that HB Forge uses for the bit. I have several knives made from 1095, and I like the easy sharpening and edge retention that 1095 is capable of. 2 Hawks uses a cast 6150 billet, which is then hand-ground. It's given me no trouble over the years, and I actually use mine.(talking with Devin Price at the Tulsa Gun Show, apparently many people who buy his 'hawks never really put them to serious work) If you like the traditional look of the HB Forge(I do), I see no reason why you would be disappointed. Hope this was helpful!
