Another cool thing about using multiple versions in different steels is that you can customize the edge thickness and finish to suit the steel best. Or you can take advantage of the differences in corrosion resistance, toughness and wear resistance depending on the task of the day.
I have :
S110V Manix, with a thin flat convex edge
- very corrosion resistant, very wear resistant and excellent slicer, but not for tough jobs because it is thin
M4 Manix with a thin regrind
- less likely to chip than S110V, excellent slicer, but not for prolonged wet jobs
Cruwear Manix left thick behind the edge
- more corrosion resistant than M4, not an excellent slicer, but suitable for tough jobs where hard contacts are more likely
If you can identify that "niche within a niche", this is a way to justify why you **need** another sprint. If you choose your steels well they could really complement each other.
