I have a little Buck 305 Lancer, early 80s, Camillus made. The black handle/covers have oxidized and have a whitish coating on them. Looking for suggestions for cleaning this oxidation, and preventing its return. Thanks!
If it isn't heavy, carry it loose in your pocket for a couple weeks, that'll clean most of it off. For heavy coatings I take an old toothbrush and Ballistol - gone in a flash like that - only comes back on uncarried knives. Case 6318 below had the Ballistol treatment, before and after views. The Ballistol works good on mildew growing on old leather sheaths and slings too. OH
