I know this is not uncommon. If you mix the lighting in the pictures to an average it is pretty accurate.
I just wanted to share what I felt needed an improvement on my Large C 2012 / 21 Sebenza. This knife was in great condition. But we all know what they look like after a year of use. They look gorgeous. But being that I am obviously a " Do-it your selfer" I decided to change the finish on the handle and clip.
The blade is stellar with the Stone wash finish that they offer.
Just want to share my method of Oxidizing and Hand rubbing.
1. Mixed 4 table spoons of Oxyclean with 20 OZ of water. Over kill maybe, did it any way.
2. Took the knife apart. Wiped the handles clean with alcohol and added a dot of nail polish to the lock face and detent just as a precaution.
3. Put the Slabs and clip into the solution for 10 minutes. This made the handles a dark gray, nothing like now, cleaning up light rub marks and exposing the darker ones.
4. Hand rubbed (maroon/red scotchbrite) the sides of the handles all the way around to clean up and smooth out bead blast finish to a satin rub look then a horizontal pattern back and forth evenly on the slabs (outside only) until the old finish was just about gone along with the "snail trails".
5. 15 minutes back into the solution. After you take them out his time they might have a rainbow type of look to them from the cleaner. One final light hand rub to even up the sides. Very very gently for a few minutes. Just the weight of the material really.
This is roughly what I did, the idea is that at the very end no matter how long you leave it in.
Your final step is the light hand rubbing , that is what makes everything uniform.
I have to say I love it. I know you have seen this before. But let me know your thoughts.
This makes my one and only EDC that much more personal since I choose not to make a scale for it. I dont want to mess with perfection.
Before-I use and carry my sebbie daily, it is a beastly gentleman like myself
But needed a little love to show what is really there.

After-
Happy improvement with a more durable sleek finish
