I just got a bunch of surplus P-38 can openers, but they don't open to the full 90 degrees. In my opinion, they're still usable at the 10-20 degrees they do open to (as long as it can fit over the lip of the can, I figure it's good to go), but everyone else thinks that it should open all the way.

Any ideas, all you gadget geeks?
