I have a P Series large Sebenza that came with an old style slip. Anyone have or know of these?

No, different knife. Actually I believe P stands for Production. They were the first series of knives after the rare H series knives which stood for hand made.

I could be confusing "P" and "Pp". I thought it was "proto" and "production proto" knives. I could easily be wrong though. :p

CRK started offering the clip option sometime in the 1994-1995 time frame on the "original" style Sebenza's. That was also about the time that they dropped the P markings, so there may be just a few knives floating around that we're produced with the relatively rare combo that you have. I've seen a few unmarked Original Seb's with clips but can't recall seeing a P with a clip offhand. Sounds like a nice piece.

Bought it a long time ago as one of those knives that was going to be a "user" but that some how we never use. Have a safe full of these un-used "users". Now that these oldies are truely collectors, I really would have a hard time carrying one. All my large Sebenzas are ATS 34. I do carry a small regular in BG 42. In my pocket now.

Pics or I am calling shens :)

Agree, it is time for some photos. Share the wealth....and you will be surprised at how much more knowledge can then be shared in reciprocation;)

PP is Pre-Production, P is production. There are quite a few "P" knives with clips out there, i've had a few pass through my hands but prefer the clip less versions myself.

Thanks guys for the input. Mike your boring post was just what the doctor ordered! Regarding pics I have 2 problems. 1 - I'm away from the subject knives. 2- I'm new to posting images and when I try to upload a jpg from my computer, the upload fails? I have to conquer this.

You are a gold member so you can host pictures through BladeForums. At the bottom right you will see a "go advanced" option. When you click that you will see new options above the posting window. Click on the "paperclip" icon and you can upload pictures from your computer that way. :)

Thanks. For some reason the upload from the computer function is not functioning consisitantly from what I'm reading. Anyway, it forced me to bight the bullet and go the URL method utilizing Photo Bucker. I posted a photo of my user from the Arizona White Mountains in a seperate post today. When I get home I'll upload some eye candy. Thanks again for the input.
