It's Pala's 20% off sale until further notice.

Pala arrived a couple of hours ago and here's the deal.

Due to the current political turmoil in Nepal (Maoists vs Nepal Army & martial law) Pala may have to relocate BirGorkha (short version of a long story). If this becomes an necessity he wants to be ready and needs some cash in case he needs to move fast. Credit doesn't work very well in Nepal.

So, to generate some quick cash he's offering everything we have in stock ( a fair supply for a change) at 20% off regular price. This price reduction will stay in place until he leaves or we run out of stuff to sell.

I don't know how to get this reduction worked into the shopping site but may work on that tomorrow. In the meantime email to take advantage of this deal and we'll figure a way.

I'll worry about the rest of this tomorrow. Right now I need a Heineken.

This does make me a little worried about the future of H.I.! What will happen in a worst case?

And is it still possible to order any special knives?

No I didn't want 20% off of special orders I was just wondering if it will still be possible to order them because I want to get more steel mounted khuks!:D :)

Both my regards and sympathies to Pala. He has much to worry about on others behalves when instead he should be enjoying well earned rest, relaxation, bad music ( ok, caviar and oysters are an acquired taste - why shouldn't sherpa music be given the same benefit of the doubt? ) and good beer.

Money can be a means to an end. Apparently that's how Pala sees it - the ability to pull people out if needed. Family first, I assume, then the kamis
as possible. Folks, Pala is getting ready to throw the dice, and the fate of his family and employees depends on how good he can make the odds.

If it happens, he will probably fail to accomplish anywhere near what he hopes to. And the overload of trying to get everything done may kill him. Please inform him of what I said above, and add that I believe an old Gorkha can accomplish a great deal, and despite inevitable heartbreaks, find that a good day to die is also a good day to be alive. Namascar, Pala. You have my prayers and my admiration and respect.

Wish I could send a couple Mark 4's home with him.

I'll offer up my 25" Kumar Kobra for sale to help out. ... proceeds to go to Pala. Sorry, I really don't have any cash to buy more khuks at the moment or I'd just offer a donation.

You set the price. The khuk is in perfect condition with Wal's usual woodchuckery. The sheath, although in excellent shape has shrunk enough that is needs to be sanded out for the blade to fit again (I couldn't get it back in the last time I took it out).

Thanks for the generosity, Alan, but Pala doesn't want gifts. He wants to generate some quick cash and that's what we are trying to do.

I'll get more info from Pala and put it up later.

We have just about everything in stock that you find on the shopping site. If you want something email me and we'll try to figure out how to get it paid for. I haven't figured out how to change the prices on the shopping site 20% without taking a day off and doing it one at a time -- and then I'm faced with changing them back when Pala calls off the sale. The discount won't be permanent.
 
We'll keep it ATT for awhile, Dave. We have a few who only make it here once every week or two & they need to get a shot at this.

Hey Hawk!!!! Long time no see!!!! Did you have to do *that much* "community service" with the speeding ticket?:rolleyes: ;) Just tzn Bud.:)

Looks like I'm gonna be tied down to the local area again for some time so Barb and me will probably have to miss anything going on this year unless we have another one here.
I promise to take pix the next time so the gathering can be shared with everyone.:)
And it would be really special and really nice if we could get 2 -3 times the amount of people.
Someone could even make a video (not me), make a few copies to send around for those who wanted to watch as well as having a way to sell a few for people who might want one.
Just some of the highlights and by all means showing Uncle Bill in *his cups* at least once, just tzn again Bro.:p :)
