I hunted the first two day's of Buck season up in PA, monday and tuesday. I saw lots of deer on monday, and this guy ran down my way tuesday morning(litteraly ran) and I was fortunate enough to make a good shot and he dropped instantly. I was using my Winchester Model 70 Featherweight in .270 with 130 grain nossler partition. Then I dressed, skinned and quartered him with my custom AD. It still shaves and i have done that and cleaned 10 rabbits within the last week. Great knife....my new favorite by far and away.

The tip lends itself to caping work...dont know if I am gonna mount him but I wanted to see how it would cape and it did great. I cleaned up the antlers after the pic.

You have no idea how jealous I am ! I didn't get to go this year . Is that a nine or ten point?

wow, nice deer!

I just got back from Kansas last night, doing pheasant and quail hunting. It was unbelievable how many huge bucks we saw just driving down the highways -- stuff that made east Texas deer look like miniatures. I've got to find some Kansas whitetail connections.

Its a 9 point, I killed a 10 last year. Its bigger than it looks in the pics, I have some full deer shot pics but they were taken with a reg camera and I have not had the roll developed yet.

Xaman, I am doing Kansas next year.....going after some REAL big guys. I hunt PA, MD, KY, VA, NY and sometimes OH. I have taken a few this year. I am hunting in MD tomorrow, NY sat, and next week MD and PA. I cannot take another buck in PA but I put on drives for the fam. We have alot of fun the first few days of buck as the deer run around like crazy.

Thats a good Deer, congrats:thumbup:

The model 70 Featherweight is my favorite Deer rifle of them all. Not to heavy, not to light, beautifull, easy to adjust trigger, and they are very accurate. True classic, hope they bring them back one day.

Good luck!

When you say "drives", you mean you're pushing / jumping them as opposed to blind / stand hunting? I've not done that, it would be pointless in east Texas woods, but sounds like fun.

Yeah, my family owns a farm in PA, as well as a tree farm(chrismas tree) and the thing is huge and the tree's are soo thick that to get the deer out you have to do some drives. I hunt in a creek bed amongst hemlocks and those get drove. There are fields around the land in alot of places so it def pays off to do drives and alot of other familys do it as well so between us and hunting cabins and other familys the whole area is moving. The first two days I, nor my family do drives and stand hunt/still hunt, but alot of others still drive.

In drives the deer are sometimes sneeking or just running like all get out. Its fun for me to do the driving and I usually see alot of deer that way, though its tails alot.

thats not even right...i hunted monday tuesday and wednesday in my camp in PA (near crooked creek if your familiar with the area) and didnt see a single buck. i know theyre around though...probablly just playing with me. either way great deer, wat to represent the great keystone state
