Anyone know the legal limit for knife carry in PA, specifically the erie area? I carry a Vaquero and I'm thinking about a Sifu but I want to knoiw if its legal. Thanks.

I live in PA, and checked out PA law on the Internet. I'm not a lawyer, but my impression was that there is no limit on length, per se. On the one hand, that's good. On the other, I think that it gives LEOs more leeway on deciding if your knife is a weapon that can be confiscated.

There is no length limit in PA. Basically you just have to use common sense about it. I`ve talked to several LEOs about it and the answer was the same. Basically don`t start any trouble or hang out with gangs etc. and you`ll be fine. The only time they ever busted someone for a knife of any kind was when they were involved in a crime of some other kind which made them consider it a weapon. I also carry a Vaquero (5") daily and I`ve never had any problems. Marcus

All right! I hoped there wasn't, because i really like big knives since I'm too young to get a gun. I'm not very big, so i look like an easy target but i don't want to be one. I'd say a Sifu might tilt the scales a little in an "encounter", wouldn't you say?

I live in PA & it is true that you can carry basically ANY knife, except for autos. Just use common sense & you should be fine. I mostly carry fixed blades... ALOT of them
