Pac. Northwest Khukuri Convention?

I couldn't make that Cantoosa one, so I was wondering if there are enough of us here in the NW to have a regional convention. I'll box up mine for a day trip (they love to get out once in a while)

I would attend.

Next trick is to figure out a location. I would suggest that everyone who is interested show up at a certain time at the next show of the Nortwest Knife Collectors at Freighthouse Square in Tacoma. Do not know the date of the next show, probably in April. We could all meet in the large room outside of the show entrance. Even though this is a long ways off, the other advantage is there will be lots of other knives to look at also.

Bill, SeaTac is a quick and cheap flight from Reno. I fly Southwest and typical internet fares are $100 to $120 roundtrip.

After sending the above post, I was thinking (I know that can be dangerous).

Bill, you could make this a one day trip. Pack as many khuks as you can in to a bag and fly up here in the am. I could pick you up at Seatac as I live next door, then go to the site we choose. Either I could take you back to the airport, or as I'm sure you would spend a little time with Howard Wallace, he could take you back, or someone else at the gathering.

This would eliminate any need for you to spend money on a car or hotel.

This would work well with meeting at Freighthouse Square as the knife show is on all day Sat and Sunday. Also, there are lots of places to eat in the building, one of which you can probably obtain your favorite brew.

Well, there's two! Mike, if it winds up being just me and you, we can just meet in SeaTac! Actually, the knife show at Tacoma sounds great. If we wound up doing something less formal, that would be fine, too.

Bill, it would be great if you could make it up, but I wouldn't feel obligated if I were you. We could still do some khukuri oogling and maybe some horsetrading.

There is also an April show in Eugene Oregon that I usually attend. A Khuk convention would really round out the weekend. :D :D

4 in the NW and 100 in FL alone. What does this tell us? I'm not sure but it has to mean something.

Tells me we need to be doing some more marketing out here, Amway style! Hmmmm. Maybe something like for every 5 khukuries Joe sells, I get one free. Works for me!

Seriously though, a few of us gathered around a table full of khuks at a local knife show might drum up some business for Uncle.

Howard usually rescues me and Pala when we are at Seatac. If he's willing to do it again it's a possibility.
