Pace count on different terrain

I am leaving in a little bit to go do training this weekend but wanted to throw this question up.

When I am on level terrain my pace count is 77 steps for 100 meters. Does anyone know how the pace count goes up when you are going uphill or on rough terrain? I know it will go up but I am wondering by how much.

Best way to find out is practice. Set out a fixed distance course (Using a rope or something) in a variety of terrains and pace yourself through them. Everybody's different...

+1 the easiest way to suss it out, better than any theory or formula

yeah - there is no "factor" to determine how much... degree of incline, broken terrain, weather, etc. will all come into the equation anyway.

Just get a couple diff measurements and try to be consistent as best you can. Pace count is just 1 trick to keep you on track - you'll still want to develop handrails and use other techniques to be sure of your location.
