I have a knife I would like more information on. It has the name Pachmayr and the Chris Reeve logo on the blade followed by the number 76 and made in U.S.A. It appeares to be the same as the current Chris Reeve Project One but with a six sided screw on handle cap. Does anyone else have this knife? Why was it sold under the Pachmayr name? Any ideas what years and how many were made? Thanks guys.

I don't have an answer for you but I'm sure you'll get your answer if you post this in the Chris Reeve's forum section under maker and manufactures.

I know that there's a manufacturer of rubber gun handles called Pachmayr. Other than that, I have no idea.

Is Pachmayr written on the grip? If so, it is probably an aftermarket grip of some sort.

You can get a definitive answer, from Anne or Bridget in the Chris Reeve forum in the Makers/Mfgs forum. As I remember this is the ancestor of the Project I. I believe Chris and Mr. Lippard (sp?) collaborated on that knife as a special offering to be sold by Pachmayr (as you note the same company that makes that is know for their gun grips). I heard the story but it has been some time ago. Anne or Bridget could give you the dates the knife was made and at least a guestimate of the number. I don?t think many were made, it is fairly uncommon to run across them. Did you buy it recently?

This knife is all metal. Pachmayr is stamped on the blade. I bought this knife used about 15 years ago. I don't have the box but this knife is in like new condition with the original factory edge. I hate to admit it but I like this knife too much to use it. Is that crazy???

I will post these questions in the Chris Reeve Forum. Thanks very much for all your information so far.
