Here's a knife I just purchased off the forum that you just don't see very often. It's an old Pacific Cutlery Kuzan Oda tanto, and it is a beautiful piece! I've never been a big fan of the American style tanto, and I'm really surprised there aren't really any more traditional looking tantos being made by production companies.
The handle on this is rubber, and has wear marks from its previous owner(s). The blade is some kind of stainless steel - mirror polished with a simulated bead-blast "hamon." The spine of the blade is angled, which is a nice touch. The guard is highly polished stainless. The leather sheath is a little disappointing, but it could be the old age. The leather isn't very thick, is very dry (old age probably), and rides too high. It's a good looking sheath with clean lines though.
Specs:
Blade length: 5 3/4" tip to guard, 5 1/8" tip to ricasso
Blade thickness: ~3/16" (.178")
Edge thickness: ~.025"
Handle length: 4 1/2" to guard
Overall length: 10 1/2"
Close to the Cold Steel SRK in size, just a tad shorter.
And now for the pictures!
Just thought I'd share this little bundle of joy
