Anyone know anything about these knives? I know they were made by pacific cutlery 1982-1987(the time that they were known by that name before benchmade bought them out). They look like extremely comfortable knives to use. I always love to see a large choil on a beautiful folder.

It seems they're pretty damn hard to come by now though :(

They were designed by Jody Sampson(who passed away recently). He was a very famous knife/swordmaker who has had some of his work in popular movies. I think the fit and finish looks excellent but I would like to know what stainless steel was used in the blades and I doubt anyone will have any clue but I'd also like to know how much they retailed for initially. The large one costs around $500 now and I've got a feeling they used to be A LOT cheaper.

Those are not weekawks. That term refers to a certain blade profile/grind (long and thin, with a deep swedge on top that runs about halfway down the blade length).

That said, PCC folders of any description are very nice. I'd like to get my hands on a few.

The Balisong version of a Weehawk. This blade is 1/4'' thick and the swedge is Very deep. Crummy pic but representative.

Not to hijack (hey cut me a little slack, it's my first post here) but I own a PacCutlery/Sampson fixed blade that was sold to me as a "Weehawk". Very similar profile to the folder, and a prized piece in my collection.

I'm 400 miles from home, or I'd post a pic. Maybe when I get home.

I've also got a Jody designed, Pacific Cutlery made Weehawk. Exquisite design beautifully made.

I love the Jody Sampson blades! Picked this one up for a song at a gun show once. Fits great in the hand and the overall feel is like a custom blade.

After 20 years these are still among my favorites....

My apologies for the poor quality pics as they don't do these folders justice.

Thanks everyone for the great pics, links and info! Those were listed for sale on the site as weehawks. I guess they had their facts wrong even though they claimed to have sold them over 6 years back. And jeeez, stunning collection Murphy!

Wow, that's one hell of a price markup!!! was $62.50 now almost $500 for the big folder! That's a major drawback to me as I assume the quality of the product is not worth $500 :(

I'm not much of a collector...more like an accumulator...

Up until a few months ago I also had a PC Weehawk folder with kraton handles. I gave it to my 14 year old nephew. He likes knives and such...and it so annoys his mother when I give him stuff like this...

The old Pacific knives were very nice knives, but the folder isn't a $500 knife, they are a bit hard to come by(especially the micarta versions), bit I've seen seen them sold on Ebay in Ebay as recently as last year for $200-300. Sakai was the contractor for them and sometimes sold their own version of certain models sometimes.

An accumulator lol, that made me laugh. When was the last time you a spring clean :) That's a shame about his mum because we both know how much joy a gift like that could give a 14 year old boy. I'd say it's pretty much the same as you or me being given a ferrari! ;)

I looked on the net and couldn't find ANY except for the two listed in my intro for between $400-500. Maybe they're overpriced but what you said is still a large markup!!! Why didn't benchmade continue producing any of these if they bought them out? Surely they could have...
