I'm new here. Been a lurker and just started getting into knives within the past year. Anyway, I've been looking for a Pacific in FDE and I just found that CRK posted last September that the color was being discontinued. On eBay prices are $875 up to $1,400. Is this normal? I'm kind of shocked at the mark ups people are putting on these. Those of you who have been around awhile, does this always happen when CRK discontinues a model?

I have noticed this as well and I don’t understand why anyone would pay that much when they are still available from authorized dealers.

Yeah I saw a serrated one today at a dealer for $325. I'm looking for a non-serrated one though and haven't seen one at a dealer. I hope there are a few more left that will be showing up.

Every time I ask an Ebay seller about it they say "It is discontinued." When I tell them it is not, they say "well, can you find one?"
So, they are just trying to rape you base on low availability. If you are patient or just order one directly, you can save yourself a lot of money and get exactly what you want. It is one thing to pay the higher prices on CRK items that are out of production, but it makes no sense to do it on items that are still in production and all that is required by the buyer is a little patience.

On Sept 9, 2020 CRK announced DFE was discontinued. Prices hopped accordingly.

I was told recently that you could still get a FDE pacific but I also thought I heard it was discontinued.

Either way, I still don’t know why people are paying crazy prices for standard Pacifics too.

I called CRK yesterday and customer service lady said they just finished a batch of serrated Pacific's and will be shipping them to dealers. After that will be a batch of non-serrated. I figured if lead times are 12 months they'll still be fulfilling orders until September.
