Hi all,

I thought I remembered seeing a thread or two about this over time but cannot find any, so I'll ask now. I've really been eyeing the Pacific lately as it looks perfect for what I'd want, but the 55-57 RC has been hard to swallow. What are the owners thoughts on edge retention with this (or on the Green Beret)? My main uses would be as a yard work EDC, limbing small branches, maybe light batoning around the fire, etc.

Also...can someone measure the blade height for me?

Thanks!

the hardness is not an issue... typically the bigger blades are a few RC points lower than the smaller blades... the Pacific is NOT well suited for batoning, yard work etc...

the Impofu would be much better suited for your needs based on what you stated

Yard work blade king: the Bark River Golok. If that's too much, a rampless BRK Bravo 1.5. The CRK Pacific looks cool, but the top guard, exposed tang, jimping, clip point, hollow grind, and choil are going to give you blisters and interfere with any kind of bush-whacking by design.

It's a military knife through-and-through. Still would be a hell of a lot of fun to screw around with, but don't convince yourself it's the right tool for the job.
