Pacific Salt as back-up to fixed blade??

Hello, looking for some info. I already edc a Salt 1. I would really like a Pacific Salt as well. How suitable is the Pacific as a back-up to a fixed blade for outdoor use. Normally, I carry my Ritter grip when "afield" in addition to a fixed blade. I really, really love my Ritter. I am also well aware of Spyderco's quality. This is not an issue of BM v.s Spydies. I like both. After doing some food prep today with my salt, I find myself drawn more and more to the ease of maintenance on these knives. Would a Pacific salt stand in for a Ritter grip? Bear in mind, I really like the H-1 steel. I think that the Pacific, larger than the Salt 1 would be a good general cost effective back-up. Opinions??

thanks in advance

The Ritter is a great knife from what I have read about it.You have already confessed to wanting a new knife so there does not seem to be much we can do to stop you. I think you are looking for a reason to get the Pacific Salt, some sort of justification for the expense so let me help you out. The PS would make a great companion to the Salt, and would be a nice carefree backup to the fixed blade. There, feeling better now?

You are correct, I did say that. However, I am still soliciting advice on the knife first. Do you have first hand experience with the Pacific? If so, please expand on it. I'm aware that the knife is a quality one. Smart or cheeky comments, while funny to some, aren't helpful.

Thanks again in advance

edit: As well, I note that IUKE12 posted a size comparison pic of the salts in a response to an earlier post of mine. Thanks for that BTW.
edit2: I have removed the last line. Better now?

Indeed I do own and use both the Salt and Pacific Salt. I EDC the PS to work on a rotating basis with five other knives, two weeks each, and find that it is not too large or small for most day to day stuff. I cannot compare it to the Ritter since I don't own one. I will say that I never concern myself with treating the PS badly, often working it hard and putting it away wet. I have never had any grip issues with the FRN, the handle size makes the knife easy to use with work gloves on. I tune up the edge once a week on the Spyderco Sharpmaker, just lightly on the white stones is all it takes.:)
