Can someone tell me why some of the blades on the Pacific Salts have the "H1" label while others have "Pacific Salt"? Is one an older model? Which one is the current model? Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure the clips went Ti before the H1 racing logo appeared. It seems the logo just went on last year, unless time has escaped my notice (again ;)).

Just so I understand, the only change is the blade graphics? I see some retailers with some pretty good prices on the "Pacific Salt" labelled knives. I like the new "H1" graphic better but for the $10-15 savings I may go with the older one. Thanks again.

It is possible that, if their stock is old enough, the "Pacific Salt" labelled knives may have steel clips instead of titanium. That was what the first runs had. After a year or so, the clip was changed to titanium, and after another year or so, the blade marking was changed to the H1 logo. All of the variations have the same blade steel, all are guaranteed 100% rust-proof. I'd say save the money and buy the old stock.

Has the jimping been changed for the regular finish models as well? I know it's different for the black blade models but I don't remember if it applied to all of them?

There was also a problem with very early knives that had a washer or some other part in the pivot that was not made properly and would rust over time. I had this happen to me but have only heard of one or two other people mentioning it so I don't think it is too much of an issue.

Thanks everyone,

As luck would have it, I found a user Pacific Salt on another forum today. It is the one with the H1 logo. It should be here in a couple to days. It will be going directly on the boat. I never liked using my other knives as I was afraid of rust as it was always wet. Shouldn't be a problem with this one.
