Pacific Salt pin versus screw construction

Today I saw a Pacific Salt for sale on eBay and the photo clearly showed screw construction. Hard to say for certain if it was hex or torx, but in any case I was pleased to see it. Other stock photos (from multiple sellers) still appear to have only pin construction or are of low enough resolution that I can't tell.

So when did this change? I am tempted to buy the one that has the photo with screw construction, but it is listed for more than some other examples with ambiguous pin/screw photos. I'm debating what sort of upcharge I'm willing to spend for the certainty of having screws. In all likelihood, it's a very minor detail. But I can be picky about little things.

Just email one of the major online stores that have a better price and ask if they have new stock with screw construction. If it is a popular store most likely they have the newer screw construction in stock. I'm sure stores forget to update stock photos when something changes on a knife model.

I had a pinned construction pacific salt (later lost it :( ) but it was one of the first ones. My roommate got his hands on a screw construction pacific salt and not only is it adjustable, but it also has nested liners and feels generally more solid than the one that i had. I don't know when Spyderco started using nested liners, but if only the screw constructed ones have them then it is certainly worth, imo, getting the screw constructed one, and doing the necessary research to make sure thats the one you get.

Sorry but none of the Salt folders have liners

Call a reputable dealer, explain that you want a Pacific Salt with screw construction ask them to verify that the knife they're going to ship you has it.

As mentioned, that's NOT accurate....the Salt series does NOT have steel liners. Perhaps the knife was an Endura?
