I currently only own two CR knives, a full size Seb, and a Pacific. Pictures and/or mention of the Pacific seem somewhat rare. Is this particular model too redundant in design with some of the others (i.e. Green Beret, Yarborough) or is there just a simple preference for other models ? Too, I've noticed an affinity among some for the hollow handled models. Given the built-in storage I can certainly understand why. Just some observations:)

I love the hollow handle One-Piece Knives. You can search threads way back and see my many positive comments and thoughts on them. As for the other military style knives, the only one I have is the Neil Roberts Warrior. I just received it in a trade and like it very much. I like the Pacific design alot, but I am not a fan of serrations. If they made the other military models without serrations, I would probably have them all. to me, a Pacific would be an even better knife if it were offered without serrations. But with them being of a military design, nearly all military style fixed blades ( not all, but quite a few ) have serrations for military applications. For me, just using them in the woods and around camp, they serve no purpose for me and actually become a negative. But thats just my opinion. As far as the Pacific's design, I think its a good on......... I highly recommend the One-Piece Range, if your interested in a OPR knife, try the shadow IV, MKVI, Mountaineer II, all are great first time hollow handle knives with very useful 5.5" blades as many forum members can atest to.

The S30V knives are great, I have a Pacific as well as a 5.5 GB and have had good times with both.
I do much prefer the OPK though, I prefer A2 over S30V personally and find the design of the OPK
to fit my needs better. The Mtnr 1 and 2 cover pretty much all basses for me. :)

There are many makers who use S30V and slab handles. Nothing wrong with it I prob have 50 different fixed blades done up that way but....I only have 4 OPK and they are all CRK. When they go away I will be sad and look forward to limited editions of OPK. (If they are not crazy pricey.)

I think the Pacific is the best of them all. I currently have the Neil Roberts, and wish I han not sold my Pacific to my buddy.

serrations are always a deal breaker for me

Plus 1 on that. I wish the serrations were optional. I know they have done some Project 1s without em. I would be into the Pacific and Green Beret if they were plain edged.

I had a GB 5.5, only things I would have changed were; remove the coating, single guard or no guard (I realize that it is sold as a fighting knife), and no serrations.

Well, I can help you with the former, with a few of my CRK "Pacific" snapshots:

Awsome close-up pics. I would surely buy one if they did not have serrations. I hate serrations on any knife. They do serve a function in the military, but for use in the woods and camp, I do not like them.

I'm the opposite -- love the Pacific, but the NR is my go-to camp knife.

I just traded a mnandi for a Neil Roberts. I really like it. Especially its lack of serrations. I think CRK should offer all of its military knives without serrations as well for those of us that wanna take use them in the field and for camping, but dont need or want the serrations.

It's amazing, I was just looking at a Pacific the other day at an on line store and I had no idea it looked like that.
