i was curious, what you folks carry and or keep in your pack, in an urban setting or while out in the woods...

along with a few other key items that live in my pack, you will always find a small/medium sized fixed blade... i generally always have a SAK camper in there as well.. these 2 combined with a bigger 3.5-4 in. belt knife and you're ready to go...

smaller blades perform most tasks where a bigger blade is not needed.. they're light enough, weather carried on your belt, around the neck or in the pocket... most of them could easily be relied on for bigger jobs if needs be..

here's a few of mine...

top to bottom.. CKE2 nessie(i just go this knife, i love it), JK E.W.O.K., RAT Izula and Gossman PSK..

Generally for urban carry I like a 4-5" blade in there. When I go hiking/camping, the 4-5" blade moves to my belt and a 6"-8" blade goes in the pack.

I keep this Boker folding double blade hunter in a pack, pouch or field bag because it's too big to pocket.

Right now in my pack I've got this baby from Bryan Breeden:

In my day pack I keep a 3.5-5" knife. If I'm out in the woods I have a 3-5" knife on my belt and something a bit huskier in my pack (a small axe, hawk, or bigger knife). Usually a folder, lil' Stomper, or Izula in a pocket as well. I recently got a Fehrman Thru Hiker--awesome small knife.

And always a SAK or multitool, I mean that goes without saying, right?

I don't carry any knives in my pack. I will have a hatchet when on a day hike from time to time. GB mini or Gerber.

All my packs and bags contain a SAK (Vic Hiker or Huntsman) and a fixed-blade Mora. I carry whatever knife is approriate for the outing on my belt.

These are my "pack knives", carried in my pocket to back up my 4" woods knife..

Pack Knives?

I generally carry a big knife, or two, in my pack when I carry one.

I like a 4” to 5” blade on my belt, and will carry a smaller knife in my pants or vest pocket.

I don’t carry a pack as much as I use to, I will often get by with what’s in my pockets and on my belt along with some gear (including a big knife) on a baldric rig.

I typically carry one of the following in my packs: Brusletto blade, an ATAX, a Mora 780, or my Fiddleback nessie. I also generally carry a folding saw...

In my pack I really don't keep any blades aside from a SAK and now a Mora. I prefer my blades to be on my person, so I don't lose them.

great looking blades guys... please keep the pics coming...:)

thegame--- i always have a fixed blade and a folder of some sort on my person... i also usually have a smaller fixed blade stowed away in my pack.. one that's always in there...

Besides my EDC set, I keep a Spyderco Rock Salt, Jumpmaster, KX05 Red Handle SE (Kydexy sheath by Scott Gere - food knife) and a Mora #2 Carbon Steel (loaner) in my pack. Overkill by far, but I start having withdrawl symptons if I leave home without them. In the car I have other goodies.

Generally a Marble's Fieldcraft, Dozier K1 for day hikes, or a CS Master Hunter or Marble's Campcraft if hunting. If group hiking and somebody's likely to want to borrow a knife, I may toss in a Mora loaner.

My woods knife can change depending on why I'm in the woods. Usually it is the same knives I have in my pack when in an urban setting.

The BRKT Woodland and the Koster K5 are constant companions. Had 'em both on me today as a matter of fact. ;)

Even had to use the chain from the Koster as a fish stringer :p.

right on Rupe.. that is a great looking pair of knives for the woods... i really like those Koster K5's..:)

My everyday EDC is still an Izula and a Vic Farmer.

Not sure if that will change.

When in the woods I still rotate others is the 4-6" blade range.
