PACK number?

I know I am new, but I am wondering what exactly the PACK number is for. Seems almost everyone has a number in their signature, and I see the thread on how to get one. But what exactly is the purpose? Am I missing something?
 
I think it's a way for the ESEE gods to control and keep track of you. Once you have been branded with the number you are no longer free to surf other knife sites and must start threads everytime you make an ESEE purchase. What ever common sence you once had will be lost, and your only hope to the answer of everyday questions will be to ask here by opening a thread.

Did just buy my FIRST ESEE knife about two weeks ago. Absolutely LOVE it!

the pack number is just for fun it makes it easier to enter contests and makes it easy to use a random number generator to determine the winner as well. its also a way to give a sense of community.

Yup. That is going to be next purchase. Got an ESEE 3, and I believe that the pack comes with a 6? If so, that would be perfect.

Ok, got some football to watch later today, trying to get this out of my system....
 
Yea the bug got me last week when I received my izula, now i have a 3 and 4 on the way. By far the izula has become my favorite edc

Well if you are ever in a survival situation you just chant your RP number and a duckaduck comes heading strait your way. So get some posts get a RP # pronto. ;)

I dont think ill be carrying my 3 or 4 on me just for the fact the cops around here just look for a reason to take them. The izula is small enough that it really isnt seen when i carry it. When i go camping/hiking though its a different story
 
I think the law in Alabama is under 4" is legal. Could be wrong, but I do cross into Florida everyday, so I should probably check the laws there... Never really considered that...
 
I've been bit by the bug many months ago.... and I find they are a LOT more fun to play with in the woods than online. (that's why I still don't have a pack number yet :-P)

I've got a couple Izula's, a HEST, a 5 and a 6, and the gf has an Izula and a 5 on her pack. :) They're addicting!
 
It's just for fun... there is no real rank here or anything.

Jeff & Mike own the company, RYP has been more places and done more stuff than I'll ever read about, the Mods work hard and, well, Mrs S outranks us all anyway.
 
The pack numbers are just for fun.

I had alot of grand intentions when I started the whole thing but alot of things have changed since then.

Most just use it as a way to show their support for the company.

It will also have a use once we get all the bugs worked out of this tracking implant thing.

Still feel really bad about that whole "Electrical shock everytime I sneeze or pee" thing Gundood has going on......

Landserpunk, I just noticed you said you cross into florida every day so i looked at your location. I'm sure since you're from Foley you've been to St. Nicks Knife Factory at the Foley outlet mall? I used to live in Pensacola and went to that place all the time, they've got quite the selection.
