I am shifting to a new house and packing is being going on. The main things that need to be packed now are glasses and plates. I am thinking to buy cardboard moving boxes for these but shouldn't they be backed before that so as to avoid any damage while shifting. I am thinking of buying bubble wrap rolls to pack the plates and glasses. How much will a roll of them cost? Is there any other things that can be used to properly pack the plates? Please give in your suggestions. Thanks!

I used all my towels and heavy clothes to pack plates and such.
of course I wasn't moving very far, just the other side of a small town.

The first time I moved into a house I scrounged boxes from grocery stores and use newspaper for packing material. It was a disaster. When we moved to AZ, I bought boxes, bubble wrap and tape from U-Line. Everything when smoothly and not one thing was broken. The boxes and stuff are part of your moving expenses and is tax deductible. We unpacked the boxes carefully, cut the tape neatly and saved them. About 6 months later I sold them to someone else who was moving for about half of what I paid for them.

I don't remember what they cost me. That was over 11 years ago.

BTW, when all the boxes are the same size, they are much easier to handle. I bought 16" and 20" square boxes.

any of the u-haul places will have moving boxes for sale.
Not very expensive either. Depending on size around 2 bucks if I remember correctly.
