Packing Rare Earth Magnets with Other Gear?

I recently came across a posting on another forum about using rare earth magnets to hold a flashlight in place. Tried it with my Quark Mini and it works very well. So I figured this was a good idea and I would find a way to carry a few of the little oneswith the rest of my EDC stuff.

Then I got to thinking about the possible dangers of having (relatively) powerful magnets next to other electronic stuff (like the "computer" in the flashlight for one, memory cards/sticks, phone, i-pad, quartz watch, etc........).

So: is there a possible problem here?

You'll run into a problem if your electronics make use of magnetic storage devices (like say a tradition hard drive). Your cell phone/ipod/etc all make use of flash memory. That is to say that magnets don't enter into the equation. As far as I know it should be unaffected but this. That said, I don't know how powerful these magnets are.

Keep it away from your wallet (credit cards, etc.)

Danger to Credit Cards? Maybe it is best to forget the idea........ will hold flashlite in traditional manner: my teeth.
