Packs for Larger Blades?

My SHTF/BOB is ever changing/evolving. I am looking for a quality back pack currently. My question as it relates to Busse knives:

I like carrying my mid to smaller blades on my belt while my larger blades attached to or carried inside my packs. Do any of you Hogs/Piglets carry your biggins (zombie slayers) attached to your packs, on the outside, so as to have easy access to it? If so, what type of back pack have you found to work best? Maxpedition? Any pics? Thanks.

Saw a AK47 strapped to a Maxpedition pack at the last show. Think it was a large but won't swear to it.

I'm currently using a Lowe Alpine Contour Mountain 40. The Spec Ops Survivor I just got is easy to rig to the outside, though I usually carry my larger knives inside my pack.

Lowe Saracen military pack, this is a large pack for a smaller pack the Lowe Stingray same setup. Most comfortable and sturdy military packs on the market.

I think you've seen my setup in the other thread. The Maxpeds seem to work great, but next, I'm going to try a TAD Gear Fast Pack Alpha. They have great reviews, an absolute ton of attachment points, and they are now working on their Gen3, which is supposed to be more than bulletproof/tough. I have a Lowe Alpine Bear Paw 45 that works well for a bigger pack. It has side pockets that I can fit a FSH into, while there are several points for attachment on the outside.

I carry my big blades in stealth mode. I can carry an SHBM in a small dimension sheath of kydex or leather inside my camelback, where the water bladder goes. The talon barely sticks out and you can angle it so it does not stick out much at all.

At other times I can convert one of my sheaths into an inside the waist holster with only the handle sticking out over the belt and it is not even visible. Can be unconfortable to sit with though.

Kifaru.
Each one is hand made to your dimensions, and customizeable to your mission or desires.

I use a twenty year old Hard frame American Made JanSport extra large, tall.

Straight Handled BM goes in a High desert Low ride on my left leg.

My plans for an AK carry instead of the BM is to put the AK between the pack frame and the Bag on one side or the other(Have not yet received Sheaths fron Buy Brown so I can only plan for now)

Kifaru is the only way to go. My favorites are the Zulu and soon to be purchased ZXR. Kifaru is the Busse of the ruck world. I currently only have a SJT but it stays on my first line instead of my third line so it remains with me in case I need to unass my ruck.

Yeah I've heard the Kifarus are good but ovearall they're a Heavy pack for general backpacking so if it's truly a BOB then you're okay I guess.

I love my Kifaru Zulu (I also just got an EMR that I have not yet broken in), and I just have to say they are the Busse of the Pack world.
I would rather have a heavier pack and not worry than have to carry all of my stuff in my sleeping bag because my ultralight ruck couldn't hold together!

If you have to count on something (like a knife or a pack) you want it to work all of the time.

There are other packs out there (kinda like there are other knives:rolleyes: ), but I love my Kifarus

Have a Semper Paratus. Great pack. Have a Howler lashed on weak hand side, and am debating on AK or BR on strong.

Carry SHSHII in an Okuden Advantage drop rig on my right leg.

They do weigh a tad bit more than others but with the way they carry they feel lighter, way lighter.

Like stated before, they ARE the Busse of the pack world, and they come in Coyote Brown.

Zulu and E&E with me.
