I am looking at getting a back pack.I have a County comm BOB but it is a pain to carry at times.
Do any of you have the Maxpedition Pygmy Falcon ll?If so how do you like it?
The biggest thing that worries me is the strap lengths, any pack I have ever had (cheap ones) the straps were not long enough for me to get it on my back with out nearly throwing out my shoulder.

What's your budget? I'm a fan of Kifaru which can be pricey, but then benefit, like Busse, is you'll never have to replace it.

The straps are actually quite long facilitating easier entry / exit.

I saw those.
Looking for something a touch smaller.
Thanks

What volume are you looking for? Around ~1500 cubes?

It looks a bit small, especially for a taller dude:

The Pygmy Falcon has 1400 CI,looking for something from 1400 to 2200 CI.
I would use it mostly for gun and knife shows but would like it to have enough room to toss in needed survival items if needed ie. mags, ammo, pistol, medical stuff but nothing bulking like clothing.

I was just looking at the Condor ll.That may be a better fit.

I also have the Kifaru Express @2300 cubes and like the Marauder it's is a killer pack as well. But, I think @1800 cubes you'd find the Xray good to go:

I think that the model dude is a pretty small guy, so the pack may look bigger in that picture than it actually is.

Just found a Condor ll or what he was calling a Baby Condor on ebay for 55.00 shipped.
Think I got a good deal.

Also look at Mystery Ranch's Three Day Assualt bag......It is a little less pricey but still built real tough! Well, at least when you need another bag.....after the Condor.....

Here is a quick video of my Maxpedition Falcon II.

I have really been impressed with the construction of this pack. $$$ well spent IMO. Good luck. ;)

I am a huge fan of Kifaru but not the prices. The X-Ray has been on my wishlist since it came out and is what I consider the perfect setup for what I want for hunting season (- all the webbing). With Kifaru you definitely don't have to worry about strap length. Any that I have tried on and the one I owned would sling down to my ass if let all the way out. Maxped are built great, especially for the price and I have had many of their models. I currently use a couple from REI since I am no longer tactically active. Usually can get a decent model on sale if you shop them.

I like the Eberlestock packs. I have the G4, but they have smaller packs that will fit your needs better.

Does anyone have one of the Maxpedition gearslingers?

I was really considering that one...
Then I read a review and saw some pics of it slung over a guys back.

His biggest issue was that it rested all the way down at his butt versus his lower back,
and that was with the strap tightened all the way it could be.
He stated that it seemed like it was designed to fit over a Kevlar vest or something bulky.

I chose the Pygmy Falcon II... but really haven't had the chance to use it much. Seems like a great pack though.

Thanks bro, I hadn't seen any reviews...

The Pygmy Falcon II looks great in Tyrkon's video.

Tyrkon's back back is a FALCON II not Pygmy. Just watch out for that if you order over the net because you will get a different bag.

I also have the Falcon II and it is a great bag, not too big, it will sinch down quite flat or it will expand out and take heaps of stuff. Lots of pockets to keep stuff separated.
