I've been working on this for the past few days and am about to send it back to Paden. The "back" of the blade, I antiqued with a light blue-bleach etch. It was all pitted from an unfortunate incident involving an in-law and dishwasher, IIRC. the antiquing process makes the pitting not really noticeable.

Then, on the front of the blade, I etched a design into it. I still have to remove the paint, which I used as the resist layer.

Thanks for entrusting your blade to me! It's been fun to have more 1095 to play around with.

My god.... I am speechless. That is not what I was expecting at all. That is soooooooooo freaking bad ass I love it.

Mrn8 that is incredible!!!
You should offer it to Uncle E to take to Blade this spring. That would definitely get some attention!

Might be cool to go with some clear holstex instead of kydex. I believe there is a dog handler around that can help ya out maybe.

The sheath I was thing about was 710s OD Kydex with brown leather drop leg with the kabar micarta would make this thing even more bad ass

Looks good to me man! Of course, the etch pattern is a subject close to home. Good work though.

Hmmm...nice idea. If I come up with a spare blade, maybe I'll make something to send his way.

Interesting, haven't seen anything like that. I like it though, makes a statement about something I think more and more folks are concerned about.

Your really doing some great work mrn8. It's fun to see peoples skill and craft evolve on here through their work. Props.

Here it is, all completed and ready to ship back to Paden (after I put the micarta back on my BK2)! Enjoy it, bro.
