Can anyone tell me what Natural Outlaw this is, that is to say which handle is this? I am so lost as to all the different versions on Busse knives and Jerry has been kind enough to let me know that this will be my first Busse (then again he is also somewhat responsible for me blowing my knife budget on this too) and that it has a six and a half inch blade (I don’t know if that is cutting edge or all the way to the micarta). That is the entirety of what I know about this knife (well I guess I know I dig the camo coating too). So any help identifying the shape of the handle and may be the version NO it is would be greatly appreciated.

rgc

p.s. I realize one knife is a long way from being a Hog, however, does this at least make me an INFIdell? :D

RGC, welcome to the forums.

The model is the Natural Outlaw (NO) with the "E" handles, AKA "ergo" handles.

This was the first model of the NO.

I think you'll find you like the NO is a sweet piece. Good size for convenient carry, enough blade for basic chopping, and nimble enough for finer work.

As far as being a hog, all it takes is one. It isn't the size of the hog that matters, but that he understands that he is a hog.

As I'm sure you've seen, it is more a shared philosophy than the number of knives.

Now make us proud, elbow your way to the trough, scoop people on great scores, and remember, NO REGRETS!!!!!

Looks like the ergo handle of the NO-E model to my eyes.

Yes, you are an INFIdel. However, an INFIdell is a brand of computers with nuclear tough frames. ;)

(edit to add) ThatHamGuy and I were answering simultaneously, but looks like he scooped me on hitting the Submit button. What a porker! ;) :p

Very nice pick up RGC! I was eyeballing that one myself. Very cool cammo finish

RGC,
Congrats, what a great first Busse.

The lingo may be a little confusing but stick around a while and you'll pick it up. You may also want to visit www.badmojo.tv and read up on some of the older stuff.

:D:D

I was wanting a NO for my "go heavy" camp knife for some time, however, I was resigned to wait to buy a used one some time later. I had been drooling over a Dozier K-2 (that was within my budget) and was literally going to order it as I was checking my email and saw that the NO was mine. I didn’t think I had a chance as I was a little late to the party and thought they were all gone. Additionally, as this was a little out of my price range I was a little hesitant to try to get one, but, I thought what the heck, it is a NO (my favorite Busse) and has a cool coating on it, soooo I went ahead and fired off the email. I can’t believe that I got it, however, I still am thinking of that Dozier . . . I can’t get both and there is no telling when I will be able to spend this much on a knife again (three year old at home and a wife who is leaving her job to stay at home, i.e., things are going to be super tight). I just convinced my self that I may never get a chance at a NO for this price again and took the plunge (especially once my wife sees I went over my budget). I keep telling myself that the Dozier will always be there, but, his blades just call to me one day I will have one. Now all I have to do is get a sheath for it (very inexpensively I might add) as this, even though it might be collectible as a proto, will be a user. Ahhh, my first Busse, heck, my first high end knife. Well, NO REGRETS!

When I went to save the picture for my files (come on, I love the knife), it saved as ZTNO_Camo_Proto. Does this mean that this is a Zero Tolerence Natural Outlaw? Please, please let me know.

Nuking on,
rgc

Edited to add: Hey, bad mojo states that the ZTs "models are only offered with tan handles" and this has a tan handle . . . . hmm.

Check out the Busse Combat Sheath Makers page. Most, if not all, will already have a pattern blade so you won't have to part with your first chunck o' INFI. :)

I have spent many an hour at bad mojo, hence, why I know I love the NO, however, I still go back when I need to find a picture of a blade someone else is talking about and I have no clue what it looks like. As for the sheath, I have not contacted all of them or visited all of their web sites, however, I have been drooling all over the sheath Mt. Mike posted over at rat chat under toughest NO/camp sheath ever. That said, the sheath will set me back at least $60 and this, my first Busse (I just like the way that sounds), already broke the budget I was alloted. Hence, I need something servicible to fill the gap until I can get a custom sheath.

I'm just stoked as not only is this a NO, but a ZT at that (I think that makes it a little better for an all around camp/hunting knife). However, and don't laugh, the wait (yes, all one day of it) is killing me.
