page encoding in IE

Is there any way to see the musical note ( ♪ ) character in internet explorer?
 
What do you mean? I read your post and I can see the character between the parantheses with IE.
 
but it's not a musical note -- it's something else, right? In firefox it's an eighth note.
 
nope it looks like a musicnote to me too. Maybe it's time to update your operating system. Go to windows and look for updating your system
 
I can see it fine in IE. Character encoding is Western European (ISO).

I'm using IE6, I can't tell an eighth note from a thirty-second note, but I see a definite musical note in your first post:
