I used to use a Timex/Motorola beepwarePRO. Not a bad concept which worked well if the service (at extra cost) was available in your area. It required a PC to download info into your watch. The download was the coolest feature: the PC would flash some sort of bar code on the screen and you would hold your watch against the screen where its (the watch's) sensor would read the coded information.
You can receive phone pages, e-mail, as well as updates on news, sports, etc. Battery life was not long-lived.
I stopped using the gadget because the cost of the enhanced pager service was almost as much as the service cost of a cellular phone. IMO, the cellular phone is more practical and versatile.
