Got the knife today! Looks pretty good for the money. :cool: :thumbup:

I don't have an "original" to compare it to, but the workmanship and quality of the materials is first rate, IMO. ;)

There is only one area it may be lacking...The accouterments for the sheath...They look (and feel) thinner than what we may be used to... :rolleyes:

But that's a minor point... :D

(I received the Buck 442 today also...Best $2.99 Buck knife I ever bought!) :eek::p
 
I'm "here" for now. Another weather front has me stuck again for now. Not much good about this place to include the weather!

For those that missed it, we're talking about M9 bayonets. I'm looking for a Buck made one and Chickentrax was trying to give me a hand finding one.

What make is the one you just received? There are several makers with contracts it seems. I think all are fine, I just prefer the Buck since it's a Buck and they were what we had years ago when they were new and I was with 10th Mountain.

Afghanistan. I'm on a very small remote site now, waiting air to get out of here if/when possible so I can go to a different very small remote site:)

Chicken- the Ontarios are a good knife. Odd though, I don't think I've seen a bayonet since I got here! Lots of other stuff but no bayonets, not like we really have much use for them here but still a bit odd.

The fooking thing weighs over 5 pounds sheathed!!! I wouldn't carry it either, except around Division...That's 5 pounds of 5.56 ball I could be carrying... :mad:

It has a built-in sharpening stone, on the back of the sheath, and a 9mm magazine pouch on the front...

If I have to carry a knife, it'll be an M7 bayonet and I'll leave the M9 bayonet and the M9 pistol back at base... ;)

(Luckily for all of NATO, I'm much too old to soldier)... :D
