anyone out here use this knife a lot and can comment on them??? what to expect? i need me a small H.I. knife, and it looks like a good medium sized camp knife, how thick are they? how do they feel in the hand? anything, anything at all

pics are always appreciated. :D

I love the R-6:thumbup: I have one that I use quite regularly. It borrows heavily from the SARGE knife (also know as the Kismet Practical Hunter) that Andy (Fiddleback) has done his own take on with his knives. In other words, it's a great design and proven to be effective;)

Now I don't know what the current versions are like as HI knives tend to fluctuate on thickness. But I believe mine is about 3/16 of the an inch thick at the spine. It is handle heavy but when using the choil and ramping your thumb on the spine for detailed work it balances nicely. The edge on mine was great. takes a mean one and holds it. The clip comes semi-sharp. I just roughed mine a bit sharper to make it an HD edge to save my razor edge for finer work.

In short, the R-6 is a great knife at an unbelievable price. We worth double what Yangdu asks. Get one:D:thumbup:

thanks for the review, and 3/16th thickness sounds rather reasonable for a knife that size.. i was just hoping it wouldnt be khuk thick in the spine. nice to know it holds a good edge too.

soon, soon.. once rent is paid, im good to go :)

Just received one of these sweet little knives ...seems perfect for chores ranging from the kitchen to hunting.

It was a most pleasant heft to it and feels unbreakable.

The smallest HI knife I own but perhaps it will become the most frequently used blade out of them all.

Many thanks Yangdu.

I just got one of these little knives, this morning! I haven't had the chance to use it yet, but it looks like a winner!:thumbup:
