For a year. So now that I've got a po box along with a storage unit , I don't have to explain any knife purchase to my very anti knife family ! So next month I might pickup an bk11 ,a 16 and a 10 or a 7.

Nice job! My family has succumb to the pressure! My mom now carries a BK-17 in her purse, and a Bryan Breeden Neck Knife in her car.

Eventually they will come around.

I'm usually the only one here during the day, not that I worry about hiding my incoming packages. I really only check the mailbox when I'm expecting something that I've ordered; so I could always argue that knives get the bills paid on time.

My wife used to roll her eyes when a new knife came along. However, I got her a Backwoods custom and now she's checking out everything I get, with genuine interest. Get them hooked and enjoy the ride!

There are anti-knife people? That's ridiculous.

What do they cut their food with?

Yeah, I need a PO box myself.
My wife still doesn't understand why anyone would need more than 1 knife.
It has gotten a little better since I picked up a set of Becker/ESEE kitchen knives, which she loves.
Although she gets less mad a me for a new knife than she does when I buy another gun.
Sometimes I think that she just doesn't get me. ;)

The average adult uses a knife every single day. Yet some of them still claim to be anti-knife. What's that again?

I'm still learning to explain that "this is a tool, albeit more useful than most...." but I certainly get where you're coming from, Akk....I know my wife doesn't understand me. Luckily, I'm inculcating our girls with knife usage and gave them both Moras with firesteels for Christmas. BWAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

Mine were 12 & 9 at Christmas. I took them both to the Northeast gathering last year - we only stayed one night 'cause you're really not even 'sposed to meet up with people you met on the interwebz and my wife was more than a little freaked. They had a blast and can't wait to go back this year. In the meantime, though, we all need to work on our knife skills, and spend more time camping and outdoors in general.

Aussie: wear it proudly. Trust me when I say I understand, but the sooner you accept yourself and what you like, the sooner everyone else will learn to accept it, too. If they don't, well, f... I mean, who cares what they think?

Just remember. You are a true knife nut when another knife nut calls you one (Thanks Derek!)... and sir with a PO box and a storage unit I believe you qualify. Welcome to the club!

Well said GSM. I have all of my knives and gear delivered to our home but have decided to keep a separate bank account just for knives and such. It makes me stay within my budget and keeps my wife from freaking out when I buy something really nice.
And that's always a good thing! :D
