Paid membership not working?

Long time BF member, but I had not posted in quite a while. Decided to up my membership and start participating again. ..but I'm having trouble remembering how to navigate some of this stuff.

After searching the forum trying to figure out HOW to upgrade, I ended up with: tech support/ FAQ's / membership FAQ's ...which has the option to purchase a Gold membership for $35.

I purchased that with PayPal yesterday. Put my user name in there "BryFry" ...but so far, it doesn't seem to be working.

Does this normally take a while to activate? Or am I doing something wrong?

... I'm thinking now that what I did is meant for one member to buy an upgrade for another member? If so, I still have no idea how to upgrade myself the "right" way... But I'm hoping that since I bought this one for my own user name, ...it should still work right??

Yeah sounds like you bought a gift membership. Normally to buy a membership for yourself, just go to Paid Subscriptions along the top of the page.

Hmm... I don't see "Paid Subscriptions" anywhere...

... looking again, "Paid Subscriptions FAQ" is where I found, and paid, for the 35$ "but another member a subscription" ...which is the only option to buy a membership that I've found so far.

If you're on a phone, may have to turn it sideways, or there should be a drop-down that gives access to this stuff (on my iPhone there are 3 bars to the left of the BladeForums logo that you tap). This is how it looks on my tablet:

Oh, yep! I see it now when I do that!
...Back when I was posting regularly here, I was using only a desktop PC at the time. Now I only use my phone, and it's different. (I'm obviously not particularly tech savvy which doesn't help) ...so thank you for the help!
