Hi

I purchased the basic membership on July 21st of this year. After using this and exploring the site I have decided I would really like to buy the Gold membership. Do I have to pay full price for the Gold membership after such a short time as a basic member or can the $10 from my basic membership be put towards the $30 gold membership?

You do have to pay in full for the Gold, but you don't lose the money you have in the Basic. Once you buy the Gold, post a thread here in Tech Support asking Spark to pro-rate the remaining time on your Basic to extend the Gold.
 
Esav ^^^ are you saying if i got gold today could have the rest of my basic membership months advanced to gold? I bought basic in 4/21/2014. If i bought gold today would that mean that i would have 8 months added to my new gold membership?
 
No, it's pro-rated. Basic cost $10 a year, Gold $30 a year, so for every year of Basic you have left, Spark will convert it to 1/3 of a year of Gold. You have 8 months left, so you would get 8/3 or 2.67 months added.
 
No. A gold membership cost $30 a year, basic is 10. At the rate per month of what you have left you'd have a little over two and a half months added to your gold membership.
