On Sunday I got a message that my membership was about to expire. I promptly went to 1SKS and paid up (Order Number: 72816). Some time tonight my gold status was shut off. A couple of suggestions from my end.
I understand that it may take a while for the membership to be added, but why is it that there is so little notice about when fees are due. This happened to me last year as well, I was going to pay ahead of time but I am in perpetual exams and forgot about it.
Would it be difficult to set the reminder for a week ahead of expiry? That way fees could be paid and no disruption to the service (is the renewal date when we pay or when it gets "hooked up" for lack of better term?), as I am sure that this does not just happen to me.
Another question. I was going to upgrade to knifemaker status and get a three year membership so I did not have to worry about yearly renewals, but it does not exist on 1SKS, only yearly, but the option for multiple years is accepted from BF- is this just something that Americans can purchase or is there a way for us foreigners to get in as well? (or do we have to get an American member to "buy" it for us?).
Hope this comes across with the tone that I mean it in and not negatively bitter.
