Painfully slow internet !!

Is anyone else experiencing slow load up time for web pages. It took me 11 minutes to load up the HI Forum front page last night. I didn't bother posting as that would mean +- 5-10 mins per reply.

Mine works :D

Sometimes Bladeforums gets really slow. I just come back after waiting 15 minutes or so. Your milage may vary. :)

Last Friday I downloaded some updates from Windows and then messed my computer up by punching the wrong button which gave me two drivers for my modem which then got horribly confused and wouldn't let me online.
Got "Geeks to the Rescue" out Monday and the geek fixed me right up. Deleted a bunch of stuff I didn't need and did a general tuneup.
Everything works really, really fine now and much, much faster!!!!

It's just a conspiracy towards you Brendan.:rolleyes: :p ;)
 
I knew it - I shall find the source of this problem and introduce them to my M43 !

Several times I have just give up and went to some other site. The problem is not just HI Forum. The last time I was shut out I fine that there were only two people on the HI Forum. People on the other forums can wipe out HI Forum so it can't even be reached. More than once I have got the server too busy notice. When I do get back on I don't even try to post.

Things don't seem to be too bad tonight.
 
How often do forumites 'defragment' your computer. Without going to great lengths, which I am not capable of, defragmenting reorganizes your hard drive to access info faster. I do mine at least once a week. It helps quite a bit, when my computer starts to slow down.
