I just received some steel from admiral the other day and while I was down stairs cutting it up, I noticed something.
It has been written on indicating that it is 440C, which is what I ordered, however the ends of the bars are painted an orange color. In the past when I have ordered from other places it was painted yellow at the ends. Is this a color coding that is universal, or do different places do it different. I'd hate to send it in for heat treat and it be the wrong thing.
