Paint under the scales of an already stripped blade.

well i decided i needed a little bit of protection under the sheets uhh err i mean scales. so i decided to paint under them.

what you will need
knife with removable scales
allen wrench (bk2 on this one)
spray paint
painters tape
razor blade

step 1 remove scales

step 2 and 3 apply painters tape and punch holes in the tape for bolts

step 4 install scales

step 5 and 6 cut tape around scales, remove scales again, remove tape cutout

step 7 paint

step 8 remove tape

step 9 install scales again

Nice.....fixing to do the same thing. I love the fact that theres a thread for stripping a knife and keeping it on and one for applying it back on if stripped. :D Good work!

thats the reason i documented it i saw FAL'ERs thread and figured someone was in the same boat i was so here we are
 
OREGON FAL'ER drinks Deschutes, fittingly. Good stuff. Black Butte and Obsidian are two of my favorite beers.
 
It might also be helpful to degrease the metal before spray painting it. Laquer thinner works best but Vinegar is good too.
 
I sprayed my stripped BK-2 with some clearcoat poly under the scales area. I used rubbing alcohol to degrease after some light sanding. No more oxidation.
