I used to play in the 80's before "constant air", semi auto's and the like corrupted the sport

Back then Brass Eagle hadn't invaded WalMart yet, 300 round ammo drums weren't common, and people actually strived for marksmanship as opposed to just spray and pray. Tippmans SMG still had 5 round clips and you'd still see the MAC-10 paintball guns occasionally... the glory days....

I thought it sounded pretty fun until my friend started telling me about how one of the guys he goes paintballing with has a nitrous powered paintball gun. Thats a little to much power if you ask me, at least if it works the way I'm assuming it does. Next thing you know somebodies going to get killed by some guy wiht a scuba tank hooked up to his paintball gun, 3000 psi. thats gotta sting a little

It'll feel better when it stops hurting.

I've been a few times, it's pretty fun, unfortunately the first time I didn't realize how hard those stupid things hit. So I wore a thin T-shirt and an equally wimpy vest, not great when your friends are a bunch of yahoos who enjoy shooting people at point-blank range... "and yea, the blood did flow.." (well, "ooze", anyway..

Don't do it much any more, since I've fallen out of touch with the guys I used to go with.

Yeah, I've been playing fop a couple of years now. I'm still running my hopped up Spyder, but I really want to get an Autococker. Problem is, getting it the way I want it makes it a $600 gun in a hurry, and I'm not talking retail pricing (since I'm a dealer), that's at cost. is it worth it? To me, not really. I don't play often enough to warrant spending all that when there's firearms that I don't have yet and game I haven't hunted yet. If you are thinking about playing for the first time, go to an organized field, where there are bunkers and referees and chrono stations. No field allows velocity over 300 fps, and most have reduced it to 285. Paintballs sting, but the less you get hit, the less it hurts, and those same refs will many times kick out those butt heads who tag people from point blank range, and people who've played for a while don't wanna see that happen either. For a place to play, find a copy of Action Pursuit Games or go to their website at actionpursuitgames.com and use their field locator.

Thought for the day: Judges 4:21. This could happen to you if you don't hide new purchases from the wife.

I play paintball every weekend, practicaly.
I started playing back in the 80's when the Splatmaster was the thing, then came the PGP pump pistol. 10 shot tube w/12gram co2. I stopped for years as it peatered out with my group. I started again a couple of years ago with a Spyder SE and have now moved up to a MicroMagRT, and my baby, an AngelSE. Actually that is where my call name derives from. Paintball is allot of fun. There are LOTS of saftey regs you must folow at an organized field. I also run 3000psi air. That is what the tank holds, a gun would blow up if it got that pressure.
The pressure is regulated down from there. Most markers run on 850psi. Co2 included.
There is also a standard MAX speed that a persons marker is allowed to fire, 300fps. Cheap gun or great they are all chronied at the field to 300fps or less. In Maine we have several fields.
e_utopia, there is a field in Standish Me. they are called Rouge Paintball,Ph#207-642-7648. They are good people. Safety first !!!!!!!!! It is a fun sport, as long as the guys with experience help out the newbies, instead of hoseing them to death. Try it, you all would love it. Pain is, after all good for the soul. Later............
