Painting a knife

So I've seen people paint guns with camoflouge coating and others and have thought it would be awesome to paint the blade of my kabar. I've seen foliage green handled kabars and think a fully green one would be even better. They don't make em so I'd have to do it myself, would painting the blade be bad for any reason? Even if I use something like duracoat on it? Spray paint? Would keep the blade edge free and sharp tho

I think this man can answer your question,if i had some spare coin i'd send it a couple knives myself for him to do.
