painting Black BM minigrip handles?

i know ive seen a thread on this before but i cant seem to find it, so here it goes.

How would i go about dying a black minigrip a lighter color?

a friend of mine out in NJ spraypainted his but lost it before it saw any hard use, would spraypaint be a viable option?

Be a lot less trouble and look better in the end, to just trade/sell it and buy a lighter color one.
