#1 was made with 1084 & 15N20 damascus that was 4-wayed (twice). I ground the pattern into the inside corner of the 4-way & filled with 4% powder and then capped & treated like a can. The handle is ironwood. #2 was made in a can with scrap damascus pieces & 1084 powder. Handle is amboyna. (#1 was tiled, #2 the can was sawed lengthwise)

Nice work Gary, I always like working with the Powder and just stuffing a bunch of left over damascus pieces in a can, definitely comes out a pattern that's one of a kind and can never be matched. The bottom blade looks like a rivers running through it, very cool.

Thanks, everyone. Glad you liked them.

The can mosaic w/scrap pieces was not my idea. I knew that both Ed Caffrey & Bill Miller do this type of steel. I would like seeing some pics of yours sometime. Definately a completely random pattern. :)Bill refers to it as his sweepage damascus.

The other was purely an experiment. First time that I've used a nickel powder without a can. I had no idea what it would turn out like but that's part of the fun.
