Pair of old folders

I'm a member of a local Craigslist style Facebook group for knives and edged weapons. Last week I bought an older USA made Uncle Henry Smokey for $5. The guy mentioned he may have some old folders in a drawer at home and I told him I'd be interested to see what he had. I ended up buying 5 folders for $25. There were two Camillus, an Imperial scout knife and a Hibbard Spencer Bartlett folder. Here are photos of the Camillus for anyone who may be interested.

Always like pictures of Camillus knives. Nice knives, great price. The knife can be dated by the way the Camillus id written. Search "Knife dating" and the thread should come up.

Thanks ed. It looks like the scout knife was manufactured between 1946-1956 and the one with celluloid scales was from the 1941-1946 era.

I don't believe any American knife companies were allowed to produce pocket knives for the commercial market place during WW2, basically 42 till the last part of 45. All their output was for war production.
I believe these restrictions are contained in; General Limitation Orders" L-140 & L-140A on Cutlery.

Nice find. I especially like the 4 line equal end jack with the celluloid handles (someone please correct me if my description is not accurate). The celluloid appears to be in great condition as are the blades.

Very nice buys. A bargain at twice the price.

The Celluloid 4-line is more than likely pre-war since they used that tang stamp before and during WWII. I'd say 1930s. It's not a good idea to rely on tang stamps to date Camillus knives. As Vit said, the Cub Scout is from the late '70s or more likely early '80s, as indicated by the white Delrin handles.
