Pakal (Disciple Knife)

I've just read Don Rearic article on the Rinaldi blade (been there many times over the years but never read that one until now). I searched the forum and found some mention to this style. I'm so intrigued that I plan to order the Shivworks videos soon and may buy that Disciple. Where can I find some more information (both Pros and Cons) on this method.

Is it a defensive oriented (blade vs unsuspecting attacker) or a fighting oriented (blade vs blade stand-off) method. Is it practical with long blades? Etc...

Hi All,

Southnarcs REM videos and system are very good programs , the pakal/pikal method of knife use is really suited to smaller blades of 3 to 5 inches .

I would suggest a trip to www.totalprotectioninteractive.com and www.stick-and-knife.com for more info on REM knife methods and more details on southnarcs ideas.

Southnarc's techniques, as shown on the videos, are geared to realistic self defense. It's not "blade vs blade stand-off", which is something rare in real defensive situations. In the vid, you'll see one person with a knife, one without.

It's simple and direct, great stuff
