I donated this pakal style knife to a member of the 1st Special Forces Group. It will be traveling with the green beret "over there" soon.

Specs:

* O1 tool steel .16" thick
* 3" blade (measured from tip to guard)
* 6-1/2" in OAL
* black G10 handles
* brass pins and guard

hope you enjoy!

Nice Knife! And a great gesture too. How did you find a specific serviceman that needed a knife? Is he someone you know?
I like your style.

He (the serviceman) contacted me about buying a custom pakal. We worked out the details including price, and when it was completed, I told him to use the money he had set aside for this knife on something else he would need over in the sandbox, because I had decided to give the knife to him.

I like your style of making a knife, plus the workmanship on the whole knife looks top of the line IMO :)

That was outstanding gesture to send the solider the knife like you did. I betcha that boosted his spirits up and made things a little brighter for him in hard times.

:)

Great job! What is the history/purpose of that design?

The knife is meant to be held with the blade down and the edge in (facing the holder). It is to be used like an ice pick. With the blade facing the user, it will cut when pulled.

Thats a great looking knife and youre a cool knifemaker. Very unique and well executed design.

It's basically a Wharncliff with the handle flipped. :)
