Ok, so like everyone I cruse eBay and see some stuff that from a distance and a small picture look really cool. But has anyone actually seen one of these up close? They are in the $150-200 range. Not expensive, but not cheap either. They advertise them to be made out of truck leaf springs which I can believe as those are abundant.

That seems a bit longer than most Himalayan Imports offerings on this site but start checking their sub forum for listings.

Also visit their website and read their amazing back story.

It's very possible to get a great blade from these nepalese etsy makers, particularly if what you are after is a big, backyard beater blade that use a lot of steel with good value. I think that the blades linked here are reasonably reputable and have been doing this for some time now, however you should proceed with caution in these situations. Steel may not be as well heat treated or as finely ground as you are anticipating. You also may have limited options available to you if something sarrives different than you anticipated. Shipping a sword back to nepal costs hundred of usd and exchanges/repairs are not an option.
