Anyone wrap their Paklite handles in para-cord or leather or other material? If so, would you post some pictures? Any tips? I am thinking about experimenting with this. I have the 136 boning knife. Thanks!

143 Paklite with sheath made by Mike, one of my favorite small, light fixedblades to carry. As far as being a gunk magnet; nothing a little soap and water can't fix or a 10 min rewrap. It makes it much more comfortable.

Not worth the effort IMHO. It will be a gunk sponge. The best part of this series is how easy it is to keep clean.

Point taken (pardon the pun). I would think some sort of wrap would help on the grip, even if it is tape or twine for the field. If not using for game or the kitchen, one may not have to re-wrap as often. It did take me a little bit to wrap this one, but the next one will be quicker.

Thanks! This is what I was looking for to figure out how to do it. (And nice sheath!)

Nice wraps! and also helped me do mine.

This is Titanium Camo para-cord. Now that I have done it, green, black, or blue may have looked better. It won't fit into the sheath with the insert in it, so need to address that. The bad news is, I might be looking into some of the other models now - costing me money and annoying my wife. Thanks for the replies and pics!

I used the boning knife tonight on a hog, never felt slippery. Felt real good but wouldnt want to use it extensively, except maybe with some handles .

That looks great. Well the good part is the Paklite line is fairly inexpensive. The sheath Makael put together is awesome. As far as the plastic insert in the sheath goes, if u give it a little heat with your lady's blow dryer and then spread it or do what I did and sheath the knife with a little pressure. When it cools it should fit. Mind you this was on the 143 not the boning. My pics suck sorry.

As far as the Paracord goes I get all my cool colors from Paracord Planet but this green (which is really nice) and all my black I get from Wally world for cheap. Hope any of my nonsense helps.

Pull the insert out first before heating it. It will make it easier and less chance of melting the nylon sheath. I shaped one last night with a heat gun, not realizing, watching the plastic insert and melted the nylon sheath.

Not wraps, but made some handles for the 136 and finally finished the screws last night. Homemade denim micarta.

Oh, word of caution. I put masking tape on the knife prior to putting it in blade clamp for sharpening, so it wouldn't scratch the cerakote, once removed it pulled off the lettering.

That turned out great. A little oops with the lettering but u don't really notice it unless you point it out. Shit happens but all in all it looks damn good.

Thanks, for me I wouldn't mind much. But gave it to my brother in law for Christmas and hate that it's fowled up, even though I don't think he will mind either as it is a user. Sure woulda been nice if they were actually stamped and one would know it was a BUCK for ever, one day there will be many posts "is this a Buck, markings are non existent or faint...".
