Hello,

i've recently been looking into getting a fixed blade knife for camping. but due to the very limited selections of my local retailers the only options without breaking the bank seem to be the paklite series. i'm not going to be doing any batoning as such, mainly small amounts of food prep, stripping sticks, making some kindling, just normal camp stuff. i just can't seem to decide between these two. ones smaller, lighter, and thinner. and the other is bigger, thicker, and heavier (even though both are so damn light that is a bit negligible). i'm leaning towards the large version due to the thicker stock and more pronounced choil. does anyone a preference based on experience?

Thanks for any responses in advance!

I cook with my Buck knives. The small Paklite is a bit small. The 110 (about twice the cost) is a great cooking knife.

I have both and tend to use the large one (141), It fits my hand better. I skinned 2 deer with it this year and 1 last year. I used it to bone some of the meat but prefer a Buck fillet knife for processing the meat. I sharpened it for each deer just because I like sharp knives to skin. I have the Paklite Field Master Kit and use the Caper and Guthook also,3 knives each to do a job or for back up. Of course they are easy to clean. I have the black coated model but have not used it so I can not comment on if the coating helps. I really do not have any problems holding the knife while skinning. Light easy to use and works good I would recommend the 141.
