Paladin PowerPlay Multi-Tools by SOG

Thanks for finding these two tools parnass. I was not aware of them. It looks like the larger tool is based on the PowerLock, while the smaller one is based on the Pocket PowerPlier. Both appear to have special plier heads, along with blades specifically for the electrician. Built by SOG, I'm sure they are both top quality.

I preordered 1 a month ago. they are suppossed to be out in feb. IF they prove to be what I hope they are I will order a few more for some of my techs. I run a tech integration company, www.rseven.com :) so these things would be PERFECT EDC when we don't have all our tools or are visiting a clients not planning on doing any work but being able to do some minor stuff.

I too am wondering if anyone else has actually got their hands on one yet?

I saw them at Fry's Electronics in Atlanta on Tuesday but I haven't handled them. The Powerlock version was expensive though. $89.99. Good idea though.

The power play was also available at my local Home Depot. So if you want to see one slightly closer than on your computer screen you may want to go there. I didn't notice a price on them though.

Hell I didn't even bother looking there, got one a 1.4 mile from my house. do you recal if it was the large or the small version?

All the websites I've seen only have the small one in stock and say the large is avail. feb or march. I have the large pre ordered at datacomtools.com right now. IF HD has it I'll grab one tomorrow.

Hey Houdini28, where would this Home Depot be located that had the powerplay tool? I wanted to handle one before I decided to buy. The idea of a tool for telephone men sounds good to me since that is what I do.

Tsquare and ZJChaser, I believe the tool was the smaller version; the PT 510. As towards handling it, you cannot really do that as it is blister packed but obviously you could certainly garner a closer look. The Home Depot I went to was in NW Indiana. The tool itself was located in a front display showing "new tools and great holiday gifts" . . . . or something to that effect. Also, in case you guys didn't know the website for the tools is running a giveaway for the larger tool.

My Home Depot has the smaller PowerPlay tool displayed with other electrician tools in the Electrical Supply part of the store. It is in a blister pack and the price is about $60. The tool looks interesting, but I am disappointed to see the box is marked Taiwan.

I know this thread has been dead for a little while, but has anybody put their hands on a Power Play yet? Thanks for any info!

Very cool. I'm in the telecom industry and these could be handy for our guys. We do tons of Cat5 and other low voltage wire.

Well I picked up the company mail today and found a nice little box with paladin on the outside. My bosses PT-525 came today, I snagged it and I'll give it back to him after a thourough review. haha. I'll snap some pics and let you know what I tihnk when I get home. it is built very solid and looks like a nice well built tool.

As I'm constantly looking for the "perfect" multi tool, I'm looking forward to seeing some pics and hearing what you think about it! I've got a powerlock and I'm quite curious to find out if the paladin version is worth the money or not. Have fun!

ok this might be tough, he came back to the office, saw it and giggled like a school girl, Preordered it a couple months ago. Now he doesn't want to let it go for me to take it..haha, I'll see what I can do. If I don't review it tonight I will sometime this week. I'll test out the punching as well on a 66 block and some 110 jacks.
